Claypit Hill Elementary School is a welcoming, inclusive community that celebrates the diversity of our students and families and is deeply committed to academic excellence and the success of every learner. It is with gratitude and pride that we serve dozens of Boston residents alongside families from across Wayland, united as Claypit Hill students in grades Kindergarten through 5. With 504 students supported by more than 120 dedicated educators, our school is grounded in the belief that all children can thrive when they are seen, known, valued, and supported.
Claypit Hill is home to Wayland’s elementary sub-separate programs, providing specialized instruction within a caring and inclusive environment. These programs include TLC, our Therapeutic Learning Classroom focused on social-emotional skill development; the ILC programs, Milestones and Achieve, which serve students on the autism spectrum; and the Language-Based Classroom (LBC), a specialized ELA setting that supports students with dyslexia through multisensory instruction grounded in the science of reading. In addition, Claypit Hill offers a robust co-taught inclusion model in grades 1–5, ensuring students who require specialized instruction can learn alongside peers in the least restrictive environment. This approach provides the just-right support at the right time, fostering independence, confidence, and growth.
Our community is guided by our core values, PAWS: Practice Empathy, Act Responsibly, Work Hard, and Spread Kindness. These values shape daily interactions and help create a school culture where students feel safe, challenged, and connected. At Claypit Hill, inclusivity is not just a program or philosophy; it is a shared commitment to celebrating our community’s diversity and ensuring every student belongs and has the opportunity to succeed.
